A Matter of Context
Twins of pregnant bank teller die after mother was shot.
She was 5-months pregnant. Will the state charge the robber with murder ? What would they do with an abortionist. Same result, different method.

Moral Cowardice
You know these people in Hollywood think something like THIS takes courage to stand against the accepted beliefs of society by making some controversial movie based on absolutely no facts whatsoever.
How about a movie that says Mohamhead may have been a pedophile? Well it's easier to pick on a passive dove than a rabid dog. But it is not courageous.

Delusion vs Reality
Delusion:
Reality
No it isn't all settled down there yet but at least it will be safer than building it in Chicago.

Ripe for the Picking
What happens when private gun ownership is taken away ? THIS
I sort of think this is why we have the Second Amendment, the inalienable right of self-preservation and protection of property.
My bet is if the citizens of DC arm themselves and leave a few bodies of these 'victims of the economy' bleeding on the lawn this stat will drop drastically.

Strange Times
I am starting to think I might be about to flitter off into insanity. First, I am actually hoping Hillary gets the nomination, Second I am cognitating about a vote for Hillary or McCain is practically the same thing and if Hillary got elected we could put this gender 'thing' to rest. This brings an unease to me.
So now I find myself doing something far stranger... defending Jack Cafferty. Yep it is time to find a doctor.
Here's the thought crime he committed:
On the April 9 airing of "The Situation Room," Cafferty, in a discussion about China, said that goods from that country were "junk," and referred to the Chinese as "a bunch of goons and thugs."
I agree 100% and seems to be an accurate observation. Consider the product recalls, Tibet, Tiannamen Square or Taiwan
Here's the article I refer to in the LA Times with a reaction.
"We understand free speech," said Lake Wang, 39, of Thousand Oaks. "But what if Cafferty said this about other racial groups? I think he would be fired. I think he's jealous of China."
Sorry Lake but no, you don't understand free speech. I also doubt that even Cafferty is jealous of a communist government currently beating monks.
My question is this, if China is such a wonderful place what the hell are you doing here? You have another freedom and that is to emigrate.

New Madrid Fault
I see on Drudge that the New Madrid fault is acting up.
I recall as a kid reading in Reader's Digest personal accounts of the 1811-12 earthquake. Those accounts told of the ground rolling like ocean waves and for a short period the Mississippi flowed to the North. There were also accounts of people felling trees so that they came down perpindicular to the chasms that opened in the ground.
Here is a page at the Tennessee Historical Society with descriptions of the event.
Here is the USGS Photgraphic Library that has some shots taken in 1904 of the way the 1811-12 earthquakes had altered the land.
nanc brings up another interesting geographical hot spot: YellowstoneI've kept a map of Idaho and I finally get to use it! You can see where the North America plate has meandered over this hot spot. Notice how wide it is.
Yellowstone erupting would not be a good thing.

Scheudenfraude
ABC 7:00 PM CDT: Barak "The Poseur" Obama vs. Hillary "The Hammer" Clinton.
I avoided those last 100 Democrat debates but this one is going to be interesting. I have my sweet tea, salsa and chips ready. Charles Gibson and George Stephanopolis are the referees.
I expect Hillary to go for it all. She needs a knockout. Obama simply needs to keep his foot out of his mouth which is somewhat of a challenge.
I would imagine there is also a fight party at the McCain residence tonight.
Tonight's key words: Experience, Out of Touch, Rezko, Judgment.
We all know what's in Hillary's closet. Nothing would be surprising with her. It is Obama that has to differentiate himself as somehow different than the typical sleazoid politician. His poor choice of words have deprived him of any credible claim to be the person to unite the country. The more he wiggles his way out of missteps the more hollow his claim that he is an agent of change. Just another deceptive politician.
That only leaves Hope which is something that comes from the desperate.

Dean Endorsement
Howard Dean speaking of John Kerry in 2004:
"The real issue is this: Who would you rather have in charge of the defense of the United States of America, a group of people who never served a day overseas in their life, or a guy who served his country honorably and has three Purple Hearts and a Silver Star on the battlefields of Vietnam?"
Does a Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Distinguished Flying Cross make it even more so ?

Botox May Move From Face to Brain
Had to make that pic smaller. Starting to cause neurological problems, bad dreams and itchy feet.
