Quintessential CNN

This is the anger that Trump represents.  That was six years ago and the 'long list of grievances' grows longer in opposition to those trying to push society to the left. CNN still doesn't get it.

Rand Paul: 'Trump mania' shows country swooning for celebrity over substance

Rand Paul: 'Trump mania' shows country swooning for celebrity over substance

I basically agree with his assessment, especially about this populist impulse for the shiny objects over substance. I personally think Fiorina and Cruz are the most substantive candidates but the populist impulse is not pulsing in their favor with Trump around.

Paul discusses the anger but I have a different list of things people are angry about.  Of course they're angry about the cookie-cutter culprits of government malfeasance and growing extra-constitutional behavior. I'm not invalidating those points Paul makes by any means. I'm a little disgusted with it also.

But where Trump, to a great extent and Fiorina and Cruz to a lesser extent, are finding their wind is going toe-to-toe with the propagators of the narrative - these carnies and barkers of  the media's gauntlet of political correct potions. Familiar territory to those holding public office who are easily herded down that path. Trump, Fiorina and Cruz are not willing to be herded. I believe people are getting fed up with the 'Idolization' of American politics. They are fed up with political correctness and the Left deciding what the offensive word of the day is.  I do believe that the key to stealing the Left's thunder is calling the media out. Force them to define their terms.  A key to winning this election is neutralizing this praetorian guard media of the Left.

I really don't prefer another narcissistic oligarch but with Trump in the race we are at least talking about those things the Left finds inconvenient.  I certainly would find it quite entertaining watching the epitome of capitalism debating the socialists Sanders or Warren.

Video: The Clinton Conspiracy

I was doing a YouTube binge and ran across this. I saw it several years ago.  I do not doubt any of it. The Clintons are without ethics, empathy or concerned about staying within the law without deception.  They are the very embodiment of everything wrong with our politicians.

This video runs about 1.75 hrs but if you are a political junkie or simply want to gather background before forming an opinion then this is full of sleazy Clintonista tactics.

Liberals 'Feel' ... Conservatives 'Think'.

In the mind of the conservative there are absolutes.  3 x 4 = 12 in base 10.  In the mind of a liberal the answer is relative to how one feels about how it was derived.

Reminds me of 1984.

We have produced a generation that cannot distinguish between absolute reality and a reality based on delusion.

Bread. Circuses ... Are You Not Entertained !!?

The first GOP primary debates were the night before last. There's your circus.  All of the pundits have kneaded the dough thoroughly, thrown it in the oven and there's your bread. Butter has been provided in abundance.

Somehow the imagery of gladiators in the arena comes to mind. Up in the emperor's portico sits the Triumvirate of Billionaires: Murdock, Ailes and Zuckerburg.  Joining them are their RNC concubines and FoxNews attendants.

Down in the arena is their arch enemy Billionaire Trump surrounded by a group of praetorians with their own ambitions of taking the trophy of Trump's head and assuming his place as the champion of the cheering hordes. Actually they are there to serve as fodder for this grand spectacle of rival elimination. The plot is to promote the compliant and obedient praetorian  Bush to co-consul by helping him defeat the Billionaire Trump.   But a funny thing happened on the way to the slaughter.

BTW:  How about that final Jon Stewart show... the finger on the pulse of America?
Nope, I didn't see it either.

Sanitized Sounbites and Bumper-Sticker Rhetoric

"Sanitized Soundbites and Bumper-Sticker Rhetoric" .... and we are indeed sick of it.

This is the REAL DEAL. This is how leaders act. She's not a stepford candidate. She's not an establishment Republican but can meet them with equal force. She doesn't play the media game. Even spittle prone Matthews had time to swallow his saliva. He baited her and she didn't bite. Instead she bit him.

Like it or not she also has the female edge and steals Hillary's thunder. The Republicans need to take a long look at the advantages of the first woman elected President being a Republican.  But that's only a fringe benefit far behind her professional class demeanor.

I would love to see Fiorina debate Trump. That could spell his demise because she could match him, maybe surpass him, as coming across as level-headed. Eventually Trump would let his brashness get him in trouble.

When Fools Attempt Science

Some of you may recall that class experiment about gossip where the teacher whispers something in the first person's ear then that person whispers it to the next person until everyone has passed the message around and the last person tells the class what they heard.  So it could start out "Tommy is chewing gum in class" and end up "Tommy was shooting a gun in class".

Apparently the same phenomena runs rampant through the leftist narratives about global warming.
"The "97 percent" figure in the Zimmerman/Doran survey represents the views of only 79 respondents who listed climate science as an area of expertise and said they published more than half of their recent peer-reviewed papers on climate change. Seventy-nine scientists—of the 3,146 who responded to the survey—does not a consensus make."
