Weekly Diversified Devotional

Installment #1 of the IOpian Weekly Diversified Devotional.
**Today's tiny tidbit: Can You Spot The Religion of Peace ?

Today's first passage comes from the Islamic prophet Isa. Here we find Isa delivering what is known as the Sermon on the Mount found in the Christan book Luke 6:27-36:

"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

"Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either.

"Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back.

"Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.

"If you love those who love you, what credit is {that} to you? For even sinners love those who love them.

"If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is {that} to you? For even sinners do the same.

"If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is {that} to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same {amount.}

"But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil {men.}

"Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

And now for an IOpian View Exclusive...

We have the world recognized religious scholar Muqtada Al Sadr bringing us words of inspiration from the Koran:

[2.190] And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits.

[2.191] And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers.

[2.192] But if they desist, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

[2.193] And fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah, but if they desist, then there should be no hostility except against the oppressors.

[2.194] The Sacred month for the sacred month and all sacred things are (under the law of) retaliation; whoever then acts aggressively against you, inflict injury on him according to the injury he has inflicted on you and be careful (of your duty) to Allah and know that Allah is with those who guard (against evil).

[2.195] And spend in the way of Allah and cast not yourselves to perdition with your own hands, and do good (to others); surely Allah loves the doers of good.

And From the Church of Scientology's founder L. Ron Hubbard:

"There is a condition worse than blindness, and that is, seeing something that isn't there."

Amen...
