When Boxer asked the general to call her Senator instead of ma'am she claimed she worked hard for that title. It would have been more accurate for her to have said she paid a lot on money for that title.
An appropriate response from the general would have been "Very well Senator and might you please address me as 'Sir' ? I too have worked hard to be properly addressed.
She is arrogant, petty and undeserving of any respect whatsoever. Senators lost their lofty status as lords when they became directly elected by the people. Now they are merely glorified representatives. Servants to the people.
