Racism

Definitions of Racism

Of those definitions I like the first one from Kids.net.au:

"racialism is a form of discrimination based on race, especially the belief that one race is superior to another. Racism may be expressed individually and consciously, through explicit thoughts, feelings, or acts, or socially and unconsciously, through institutions that promote inequality between races.

Recently we have Bryant Gumbel commenting on the Winter Olympics:

"...So try not to laugh when someone says these are the world's greatest athletes, despite a paucity of blacks that makes the Winter Games look like a GOP convention."

Now let's apply the IOpian Racist Equivalance Test by changing a few words and have Bernard Goldberg say:

"...So try not to laugh when someone says these are the world's greatest basketball players, despite a paucity of whites that makes the NBA Finals look like an NAACP convention."

Either BOTH of those statements are racist or NEITHER of those statements is racist.
