Is It Jobs or Ideology ?
MURRAY AND BIER: Create wealth, not jobs - Washington Times
A pipeline, pumping stations, storage facilities must be monitored and maintained. Peripheral business flourish around these projects. Wealth provides opportunities. Economic development is a dynamic thing that cascades, evolves, mutates. The idea is to provide the push.

Good Site: You Could Have Heard A Pin Drop But alas they are like me, pretty much given up on the blog. Their archives are still up though. Hey, why blog when I can irritate so many more people on FaceBook? The world is changing.

Great Moments of the Smartest President Ever.
The siege at Khe Sanh was an epic episode in the history of warfare where American troops held off vastly superior forces. The word 'Khe Sanh' has been repeated thousands of times in our media. Anyone that is remotely conscious has to have heard it several times in a lifetime. Apparently this president, who many have claimed is smarter than Jefferson, Lincoln, Washington, the most intelligent president ever, apparently has not been quite so conscious. I doubt that Reagan or Bush would ever have made this gaff. It is like pronouncing Gettysburg as Gettlingburg.
Of course Obama is the most brilliant president to some, those who are less intelligent than he is and that is not much of an accomplishment.

Conservatism 101
Bill Whittle touches on a fundamental aspect of the conservative world view. The liberal worldview is one that sees to world as it ought to be. The conservative worldview is one that sees the world as it is. One is based on the idealism of inexperienced youth, the other is based on empirical realities, the world of adults.

Moments of Malaise - version 2.0
"President Barack Obama on Thursday said the U.S. has lost some of its competitive edge and gotten a 'little soft'.”
Buck Up! Keep Hope Alive!
Narratives.
Clinton wants more credit?
The amazing thing here is proof that he actually knows the reality and has been talking around it for years in an attempt to support the false narrative that he should get credit for the surplus at the end of his term when he happened to be warming the seat in the Oval Office.
In this article he refers to the reality as a Republican narrative. The fact is he does not credit the dotcom boom that supplied unanticipated revenues helping to balance the federal budget along with pressure from a Republican controlled Congress that kept his urges to spend in check. Remember the shutdown? Remember Hillarycare? Remember how the Congress critters wanted to blow the surplus on their favorite pet projects and how upset they were when Bush proposed giving it back to the people. To this day they still blame this move as triggering all of our current ailments.

Ouch.

Mookie: The Herpes of Iraq.
On February 20, 2008 I made this entry into my blog:
----------------------------
----------------------------
I believe I called this one. Then again who didn't see this coming?
Gateway Pundit: Al Sadr’s Mahdi Army Vows to Launch Suicide Attacks Against US Troops
My suggestion then remains the same today as it was then, he needs a Jimmy Hoffa disappearing act executed on him. Snatch him and bury him out in the desert somewhere.
----------------------------
CNN: Iraqi militia to hear Saturday whether to resume fighting
The closer we get to a withdrawal the more we will hear from Mookie and his Mahdi crew. Like the little strutting dog chasing a truck down the road he wants to appear as having driven the occupiers from Iraq.
Looks like Iran wants this stooge to make his move. Should he unleash his Mahdi warriors for their next round of getting their asses handed to them I think the Iraqis should pull a Schroedinger's Cat on him during the tumult. He simply disappears. Whether he is alive or dead could not be determined. The Shia wouldn't know whether to rampage or wait for him to crawl out of hiding where he avoids the fate he has placed on others. Not quite the stuff martyrs are made of you know.

There Is No Downside... at least for sane people.
I agree with this editorial 100%. This is our way out of this mess; a way to wean ourselves off foreign oil, stop the outflow of capital to our adversaries, put people to work and break the stranglehold the Green movement has as they hold our economic well-being hostage in order to promote their unrealistic political agenda.
The most notable observation of the article:

The most notable observation of the article:
"The EPA study was ordered despite the fact that EPA administrator Lisa Jackson conceded during recent congressional testimony that her agency has never found a single provable example of ground water contamination traceable to fracking."It's all smoke and mirrors on the opposition side.

High Fuel Costs: The Real Culprit
I am creating a list of links that show who the real culprit is in creating high fuel prices and crippling the recovery.
Gulf Drilling
Alaska/Shell and Icebreakers ( EPA )
Alaska/Shell/Regulations ( Shell )
The Cost of a Gallon of Gas ( Department of Energy )
Gasoline Retail Prices ( Department of Energy )
What To Expect When Amateurs Set Oil Policies
Oil price spike: Speculators aren't to blame. ( CNNMoney )

My Choice For POTUS
He's not a politician. He knows business. He tells it like it is.
If you don't think he is Presidential caliber watch him eviscerate the left's best example of a President. At about 6:50 in the video, after Clinton makes a political move to insert populist humor, Cain overcomes Clinton's BS and you can see on his face that he has met his challenge and Cain gains the intellectual advantage.
My initial choice for his administration would be:
Sarah Palin for VP
Paul Ryan for Treasury
John Bolton for State
Patraeus for Defense
Guiliani for Justice, Homeland Security or FBI

CAIR Confronts Allen West
Love this guy.
From The Daily Caller:
Here's a few verses for Rep. West:
The Cow
[2.191] And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers.
The Immunity
[9.5] So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
The Women
( This one in particular could be directed towards Western Christian civilization )
[4.89] They desire that you should disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so that you might be (all) alike; therefore take not from among them friends until they fly (their homes) in Allah's way; but if they turn back, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a friend or a helper.
[4.91] You will find others who desire that they should be safe from you and secure from their own people; as often as they are sent back to the mischief they get thrown into it headlong; therefore if they do not withdraw from you, and (do not) offer you peace and restrain their hands, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them; and against these We have given you a clear authority.

An interesting dynamic shaping up here. Hopefully the non-affiliated voter is gaining political strength and forcing both parties to moderate.

American Exceptionalism
H/T KICKIN' AND SCREAMIN'
This interactive map shows a comparison to individual states GDP to those of nations. America is not just another country. This brings to mind a question... why do our states not have individual representation at the UN when the European Union member stated do have such representation?

Health Rights?
Obama's statement about Roe vs Wade from USA Today:
Got that? Women's health is part of a matter that government should not intrude into... yet the same people, Obama's ilk, feel that government can intrude into your wallet and violate a fundamental right to privacy, property and choice as to one's health. Typical inconsistent liberal tripe.
"Today marks the 38th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that protects women's health and reproductive freedom, and affirms a fundamental principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters.
I am committed to protecting this constitutional right. I also remain committed to policies, initiatives, and programs that help prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant women and mothers, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption.
And on this anniversary, I hope that we will recommit ourselves more broadly to ensuring that our daughters have the same rights, the same freedoms, and the same opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams."

Climate / Weather
Just a thought: With record setting cold this season the non-deniers of global warming climate change make the point that weather is not climate. However, aren't current temperatures for their thesis about climate gathered from thermometers on the surface and nothing but measurements of the local weather's temperatures?

Clinton Learns Nothing
Since Clinton has stuck his nose into the Tucson Killings I would like to bring up a post I made from April 10, 2010 that exemplifies how he will insinuate others and ignore the actions and words of his own political allies.
"The extremists and their voices, the crazy voices that sometimes get on the TV.." and he isn't talking about Maddow, Schultz or Herr Obermann.
They will take any opportunity to silence the success of right wing pundits for the same reason thieves don't like alarms that expose their devious actions.
In this case the guy was simply a nut, illogical, irrational, antisocial, deluded and leftist. He and he alone is to blame for his actions. To blame this on pundits or your political opposition is like blaming the Son of Sam killings on the dog for barking.

Bill Clinton commenting on the TEA Party Movement:
"What we learned from Oklahoma City is not that we should gag each other or that we should reduce our passion for the positions we hold - but that the words we use really do matter, because there's this vast echo chamber, and they go across space and they fall on the serious and the delirious alike. They fall on the connected and the unhinged alike," he said. "One of the things that the conservatives have always brought to the table in America is a reminder that no law can replace personal responsibility. And the more power you have and the more influence you have, the more responsibility you have."
Clinton apparently learned nothing at all. There is no comparison. During Clinton's era his administration ridiculed people merely wanting to be left alone by the government to worship as they choose. A smug Clinton and his administration thought otherwise and murdered 76 people, 20 of them children. That's what caused Oklahoma City, not mere rhetoric. There is no comparison other than the perpetuation of the same smug arrogance of those who think they know how people should live their lives better than the people themselves do.
Yes Clinton, words do matter, especially when they are ridicule of the people simply wanting their guaranteed rights.

Leftist Hypocrisy
Found this at Moonbattery in the comments. Hilarious. I guess liberalism causes short-term memory loss.
Hope
From Right Wing News: Hope for a One Term Presidency.
Unfortunately I hope the prospects are better now that Republicans control the purse strings and can assure a sense of stability for businesses in the next two years. Of course when the private economy does improve, in spite of Obama's regulation regime to keep it down, the Left will nonetheless claim that it was his policies that brought about the recovery. This will dutifully be shouted from the rooftops by his admirers at the CNN, ABC, CBS, MSDNC, NY TIMES and WaPo branches of the Ministry of Truth.
