The Audacity of Hype

Apparently Gordon Brown wanted to limit the photo ops.

When one has no substance then symbolism is the only resort. His campaign has indicated this is to bolster his foreign policy status therefore he must have not had much of one to begin with. How dropping by a country for a day or two makes one an expert on understanding that country is ridiculous.

What snake oil are they pitching at 10 Downing Street? What message are the rubes back home supposed to get from this? The press and the feeble-minded ( sorry for being redundant ) fawn over his appeal to foreigners and they ridicule McCain because he is at home visiting with American voters and looking awkward in a body bearing the measure of his dedication to our country.

Let me state what I think of how what the world thinks of us matters to me. Well, I don't want to foul my blog with that kind of language.

Stolen Stratocaster Update

Back in October of last year I made a post about my Stratocaster that was stolen from my friend's studio.

So assh*** if you are reading this, yes it was me that put you where you are. Idiot. Those pawnbroker charges are the result of my effort. I'm sure Bubba and Leroy are getting to know you and are enjoying your company.

This guy came back a few days after the initial burglary. He was one step away from being plastered on a hallway wall by a .357 bullet. An even bigger surprise ( and mess ) awaits him if he tries again when he gets out or sends his buddies over.

The Emperor's New Clothes

After this ridiculous world tour I believe "uh uh B uh Hussein uh uh Obama" has revealed his true ambitions, or rather manifestation of his Messiah Complex.

"People of Berlin -- people of the world -- this is our moment."

In one of his speeches he feigns humility and inclusion when what he really meant was "I am the one you've been waiting for. I am the change that you seek." Yes I can.

I HOPE the CHANGE he promises turns out to be those new clothes he wears back into his Senate garb.

Lawyers and Lies

Imagine you're a nationally known lawyer and politician who has worked for years to build a reputation such that you can be taken seriously for the highest office in the land. Suddenly some sleaze gossip magazine makes up vicious lies and damages you reputation. If I were such a person my first instinct would to file a libel suit and clean out their bank account just like I would do to a doctor.

And how did John Edwards reply back in December when the story first broke before this attack by the National Enquirer ?
"Edwards responded: 'The story is false. It's completely untrue, ridiculous,' adding: 'Anyone who knows me knows that I have been in love with the same woman for 30-plus years.' "
Here it is seven months later and still no legal action has been taken. Some times it is what one doesn't say that points to the truth. But then what lawyer would have anything to do with the truth ?

Update: In step with Liberal Fascism, you know those that promote the idea of the People's right to know, the LA Times asks it bloggers to suppress the story.

Update: So who lives in a reality-based world ?

Johnny Cash

I finally watched Walk the Line. Interesting movie and I spent some time reading about him and watching videos on YouTube. In his Wiki entry they call him one of the most influential musicians of the twentieth century. I agree. Here's proof.... I couldn't watch this just once

NYT is a fine paper.

The Google Idiot Contest

Google these two phrases and notice the number of hits.

Bush is an idiot.
Obama is an idiot.

No contest.

Facism is as Fascist do

One of the tenets of fascism is controlling the news.

The New York Democrat Times shows us an example on the Drudge Report.

I'd Like an Answer

Open note to the media:

Would someone please ask Obama what his strategy is to win his 'real' war in Afghanistan. Are we going to have a time table to withdraw our troops to victory ?

Anybody notice a trend here. We kick al Qaeda's ass in Afghanistan then they show up in Iraq where we again kick their ass now they show up in Afghanstan/Pakistan. Might the two be tied together by the concept of a global war against terrorist ?
